Something to share...

Kade's parents put in their mission papers and got called to Fort Worth, TX. Sunday was there farewell and they leave November 17th, as I had said in a previous post a few weeks ago.. the day they got their call all 8 of Kade's bros and sisters got together with their families and kids and we got family pictures. Aaron (his dad) asked me if I would make him a scrapbook "just something simple, throw all the family pics in a book with those plastic rings or something" he just wanted a family picture of each of his kids and then the whole family pic and the pic of just the kids and them. Well... if you know me at all that just wasn't going to do it for me. So a week and a half and 55 hours later the result was a 12X12 photobook that I had printed by shutterfly. I made the pages digitally in my photoshop elements then transferred them to shutterfly and had them put the book together. They will be gone 18 months and I know they will miss us all and the ranch terribly, so I took pictures of the ranch and added them to the book as well. We gave it to them a week or so ago when it arrived, of course Kade can't wait to save his life for any surprises. They LOVED it. It made the time I spent and the messy house and deprived kids well worth it. I will not be making another one anytime soon.. but I am so glad I took the time to do this one and do it well. Nancy (Kade's mom) looked at the first couple pages and then went in the bathroom and cried. Aaron privately told me that it was probably the neatest gift he has received ever, which I thought was a neat compliment. I also had 8 8X8 prints of the book made so now my xmas is done for the whole family. Woo Hoo!!

Here is the link to the book if you want to view it, they make GREAT gifts and I would be happy to answer any questions or ways to save money on them if you have them. Email me sammi_nickel@yahoo.com.

I loved looking at that book. You did a great job, you are so talented. I made one for Kennedy for Christmas, she probably won't appreciate it as much now as she will later. I think they are awesome.
